How do you teach when there are different levels in a class?

The all-ranks classes are open to everybody, from the person who just started yesterday to the black belt who's been with us for over 25 years. We teach to the level of the newest person in the class - which also provides reinforcement for everybody else on the techniques which are the building blocks on which we base our curriculum.

Depending on class composition, we may also break off into groups based on rank to work on different techniques. Don't worry, though - the upper belts also work on their curriculum in the more advanced classes!
